With the 2017 release of her first children’s picture book, Katie began touring local schools and libraries sharing workshops on storytelling and family history. She is now available beginning Summer 2019 and into the 2019-2020 school year to visit schools, libraries, homeschool co-ops, Scout groups, and more. In pioneer costume, Katie will visit your group and read aloud her storybook, When Mother Read Aloud: The Life Story of Almyra King Holsclaw, based on the memoir of her Indiana pioneer ancestor. In addition, she will hold a short workshop on beginning family history for kids. A take-home handout is included. The program lasts approximately one hour and is appropriate for upper elementary students and older.
Storybook Ancestor programs within an hour’s driving distance of Indianapolis are available for a reduced fee. For more information, please contact Katie. In order to support keeping these programs affordable, please consider donating to Katie’s Ko-fi fund. Thank you!
